It is now more than a decade since BHP Billiton, the company responsible for the wide-spread environmental damage, pulled out leaving its shareholding to the people of PNG. Since then, Ok Tedi has remade itself, spending more than a billion dollars on environmental remediation and extending the life of the mine to 2025. End of Work helped change the world's perception of Ok Tedi Mining Limited, one of Papua New Guinea's largest gold and copper producers.  From disaster to dividends.
